What's that up in the sky? A bird? A plane? Nope . . . nope, just another designer.
Stop me if you've heard this one before. Young boy falls in love with comics. Drawn in by the colourful and fun heroes who save the day within a couple of pages. After no super powers manifested, I turned to drawing and found I could save the day another way.
"Ryan is a talented and dedicated graphic designer, he's an ideas man who brings a creative energy to any team. During my time working with Ryan I had the pleasure of watching him bring these ideas to life, taking projects from concept to execution both on his own and in a team"
– Elliott Magill
former manager, The Coast Publishing
I trained at the Nova Scotia college of Art and Design, majoring in Design mixed with some photography and drawing. After I graduated from there I got a job with The Coast, where I went from production sidekick to art director before leaving for the next adventure.
One of the things I've learned along my way is that everyone has an interesting story to tell. Telling that story is part of the adventure. Together, I believe we can come up with a genius solution that fits your needs. A cheeseburger with fairy wings, helping plan and throw the best ball, award winning trip planning, whatever it is I'm your man.

"Coast food and life editor Allison Saunders spearheaded a group effort—involving Coast designers Elliott Magill and Ryan Chisholm, plus me—to distill a whole province-full of activities and destinations into one attractive newspaper spread. That's an easier-said-than-done task, but "The ultimate road trip" was a hit with readers when it came out in the June 19 Hot Summer Guide, making the work worth it. Then came another endorsement: During a session at last summer's Association of Alternative Newsmedia convention, designer Jandos Rothstein singled out "Roadtrip" for praise. And Rothstein just happens to be creative director the the Washington City Paper, runner-up for "World's Best Designed Newspaper". Now "Roadtrip" is nominated for the Best Page Presentation: Newspaper AJA. It might not be "World's Best Designed Newspaper," but we are pretty stoked."
